Forty Hall Easter Events

Over the Easter weekend we did not one, but Easter events at Forty Hall, our local stately home.

Mad Hatter’s Arty Party

The Mad Hatter’s Arty Party was the first event. Run by the Funky Festival Company, this was an Alice in Wonderland inspired hour of crafting (just look at the cute Alice tea cup Seren made) ….

… followed by bonkers games led by the White Rabbit and Mad Hatter in fabulous costumes!

All finished off with juice and a biscuit.

This was for Seren & I only as we though Imogen was a bit young. Though she hung out with Andy at the nearby play area and joined us for the last 5 minutes and met the characters.

She was obsessed with this prop of Alice, half fallen down the rabbit hole.

We’ve been to a few events run by this team and the attention to detail regarding props, costumes, crafts and activities is fantastic. They are super friendly and fun too.

The annual Away With The Faeries weekend is their next event, happening at Enfield Town Park.

Forty Hall Easter Egg Trail

An Easter trail around Forty Hall – house and gardens – was next. Both girls could participate in this. We were given a map to follow which told us where to find hunt clues and each clue was a letter to spell out a 17th century sweet marzipan treat (Marchpane).

It was fun to go round the house and see how it had changed since our last visit and read some educational bits about Easter. It was also cool to watch Seren read the letters and write them down unaided for the first time!

We finished in the garden, after a bit of help!

A Creme Egg was our reward! The trail was not only fun, but only cost £1 and there were timed tickets all weekend which meant there wasn’t tons of people doing it at the same time as us.

I would recommend the trail for next year if they run it again!

See Forty Hall’s website for more information on future events.

Did you head out to any events over the Easter weekend? I hope you have come down from the Easter chocolate high!

Hi Sian, it sounds like you had a fun Easter weekend. Both the Mad Hatters Arty Party and Easter Egg trail sound like fun. It’s a shame that Imogen was a little young for the Arty Party. Isn’t it funny what attracts a child’s attention? I find the prop of Alice stuck down a rabbit hole a little unsettling as it looks so real!

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.

This looks like such a well done event – the costumes and theming is so well thought through! I like the fact they ran it using timed tickets too, so many Easter events can get really overcrowded which definitely puts me off. A creme egg is a perfect prize too – not too big given all the Easter chocolate everyone already has at home! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

We didn’t do any Easter stuff this year because we felt my son was still too young but that tea party looks brilliant and totally get why you say attention to detail is high!! I fancy biscuits now! Lol.. #countrykids

Those costumes are fantastic and I love the craft idea. I wish we were closer as we would definitely put this on our list for next year. I think money would really love all the activities and I wouldn’t be able to resort the toad stalls. Well priced east egg hunt too! #CountryKids
